  • Clamped atmospherics

Is there any way to get the max atmospherics (volume light) to return the unclamped values of the effect?

I have to make some convincing vater vapour above a grass area, and using volume lights looked like a good idea, but since my workflow is full in the hd range now (vray sky/sun, ect...) all the atmospherics render black.

Is there any vray aware volumetric solution coming along?

The problem with atmospherics (volume light in particular) is that it clamps the output itself, rather than leaving this to the renderer.

There is some work on volumetric lights for V-Ray, which may or may not be available soon, depending on how much time we can spare for it.

    Best regards,

      Thanks for your reply Vlado!

I suppose the volumetric lights are developed as a generic volumetric shader, rather than just a specific tool to create light beams. Well, once its done, it definitely will be a powerful addition to Vray, worth to wait for, thats for sure.
