  • HD Rendering Memory Problems - Was fine at 720 Res

Im re-rendering some shots of a project at HD resolution 1440x1080. The renders were long at standard definition about an hr a frame and used about 1.49 gig of memory.
When I send the HD frames to my network, many seemed to return an unexpected error and failed. I assumed that the machines were running out of memory.
I Changed the max levels to 40 (instead of 60) and changed the memory from Static to Dynamic. The frames are now rendering, However, the head of my main charater is missing and not rendering? Any suggestions on why this might happen?

    Which V-Ray/3dsmax version is that?

One solution would be to use .vrimg files and keep the static geometry. Otherwise, it will be helpful if you can send me the scene to vlado@chaosgroup.com for investigation.

I'd send the file but it's pretty huge!

What do you mean as far as .vrimg files? You mean the output file or the texture maps?

You're running out of memory. You need to look into the various threads about reducing memory useage.

Nevermind, you already figured that out
