100% of our work is done in Revit and imported in as a DWG. We have never had this problem. The only thing that I can think of that could cause a problem is the fact we work in feet and your file was in inches. Also, when you do your export from Revit, make sure you exporting as ACIS Solids as opposed to polymesh objects.

Hmm, all other objects are fine in the scene file. If you just create a new box and assign the same material on it - you can see that everything is okay.
I 've also tested to switch to scanline render, and after this I've loaded the same settings (saved before...) and I do have the same issues. spots are everywhere....

Hmm, sounds interesting. I was talking to our revit experts, and all the objecs were exported as polymesh...
could you explain me the progress - is there any special thing we have to recognize from the revit export and maybe - yes, we missed it ?
Okay, now I start making more tests... I think that I am really not alone with this issue....

Okay, now I could test it your way, and well, we couldn't fix it.
I decided now to upload you our .dwg file - maybe there was something wrong in the modelling process of revit ?

It imported and rendered fine. I uploaded my max file along with screen shots of all relevant settings to the folder I gave you earlier. It also has my rendering in it as well.

Something I thought of earlier, is that maybe there's something screwy with your max install. If you still can't figure it out, you might try dumping it and re-installing everything.
As far as the rescaling goes, we've always done everything in Max in feet. Revit and AutoCAD both default to inches. As a result, we've just always rescaled on import. Has never caused any problems. We could reset things so that we work in feet in Revit and AutoCAD, but we get a lot of files from clients in inches so it's better for us to stay that way on the CAD side of things and convert when coming into Max.
We're all self-taught here, so some of the things we do are done a certain way because that's what we learned from somewhere along the way, right or wrong. But, as they say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
I really appreciate your help. Well... today I've spent this scene file more attention - took a closer look - tried different renderings - etc.
But I really couldn't find the reason for the difference.
It's really strange.
Of course every help is welcome - maybe someone can find the difference between the scene files, or what happend during the import/export progress.

Have you ever tried using my uploaded scene file ?
Deleting everything in it, but leave the render settings, and reimport with your method the .dwg file again ?
Did my original scene file worked on your computer ?
Or did you get the same issue - the spots on the wall ?
I think if it will work on your computer, well, then there must be somethign different in the vray render.
