Rendering Problem: Buckets (or renders) Look Different
Thanx for the compliment, but I think I spoke to soon about DarkTree (I'm certain about Npower). The problem appears to be more intractable than I thought.
I was testing this initially, in an effort to keep things simple, using just 32 bit max and 32 bit vray on 64 bit machines. So I thought I'll see if this problem exists in the 64 bit version. So I installed 64 bit vray on one farm, then did a test render, and it came out fine! Aha I thought, now I'll go back and test 32 bit, and that didn't work as expected. But then when I went back to check 64 bit, it also didn't render right. So now I'm even more confused.
I have however, narrowed down a little bit what part of the render is not being processed correctly. It is the reflection of an object in the scene that isn't working (remember that my scene is just a teapot with a couple of spheres). The hdri environment map I'm using comes out just fine. And if I hide the object to be reflected then the render also looks fine. The same problem exists in both 32 and 64 bit.
I'm going to continue to work on this and see if I can narrow it down some more, but I'm hoping that this new info, might make someone think of something.
unfortenatly it happends to me sometimes....and btw i rendered two scenes since yesterday in dr an i can see many buckets rendered differently...looks like a part of the render is 2.2 gamma and the other is not....
really strang, btw all the maps are network linked correctly and all...
i really do not understand..
