  • crash due to material crossing or clearing

in the material editor, map roll out parameter,
if i drag one of the empty slot to replace the map for ex. diffuse,
most of the time like 90 percent, i will crash.

if i cross the vray2sided, i will crash.

if i right click and select clear, i will crash.

is it only me, or anybody else experiencing the same thing?

nope... none of those happens to me... well maybe 1-2 times, but certainly not most of the time.

    Are you using DirectX? OpenGL?

does that happen even in new scene? (empty scene)

no, it happens most of the time when every material in my material editor is full, and i need to make room for new material, i put to library a certain material, and crossed it, and it crashed. just like that.

one of my friend also experiencing this. don't know whether this is a global thing or just me and my computer.

This is corrected in newer builds of V-Ray (originally it happened because of the SDK changes in max 9).

          Best regards,

thanks for the reply vlado, so how do we get around this issue with my builds? my materials are usually more than 64, and it happens almost all the time.

i think if you make sure 'show map in viewport' is UNCHECKED, you'll be okay.

                What a useful workaround.
