transforming vertices

  • transforming vertices

    my computer takes literally 5 minutes to finish transforming vertices and another 5 to come back to a normal ui

    here is the vray data

    any ideas on how to speed this up

    i started over on all the materials and am rendering at 320 X240 for test and it still does this

    5703 render objects
    35 vray lights
    physical cameramax tree depth: 39
    raycasts:1752152

    i dont know what is causing this? any ideas?...anyone?

    its a big file with alot of detail

    I also get this problem, seemingly at random times. The newer builds are supposed to fix it supposedly. Can't seem to get a hold of any though...

      What version do you use ?

      RC2 or RC3... I know that RC4 correct this bug ...

      Ask vlado if you need this version...

          i deleted the piece of geometry with the most vertices and it dramatically sped things up

          i think the trick is (obviously) to minimize the gemometry of what is in the view to only what is seen by the camera, no shortcuts, must pare the scene down to the bare essentials

          this seems to be the best workaround, err workflow

            similar problem here, with rc4 though...

            could not find a pattern yet, but sometimes max/vray just hangs at transforming vertices, instead of finishing this stage in less than a second. have to crash max if it hangs.

            happens 1 out of 99 renders or so. might be geometry related, but it's not a steady bug here. could it be a network jam so xref's can't be read properly?

            no big trouble as it happens only once in a while.
