  • Glass problem

I have a scene with glass windows and glass panels infront metall walls with 10 cm distance between them. I have two problems.
First there are dark areas behind glass in shadow areas of the building like the light doesnt reach that area.
I had that problem before in my projects.

Second It seams the antialiasing is low quality on the areas behind glass panels.

Why is that happening and what do I have to change.

tick refractive GI caustics, Without that "affect shadow" doesnt work and you dont get any light thru your glass

Thanks, this solved the problem. The reason I unchecked this before is that I have lots of splotches around my scene when I use vraylight material.

What about antialiasing in dark areas, any solution for that.

Switch to QMC AA. That might well solve your problem.

Yes sometime I use vlado's universal qmc settings but it takes too long to render. In 3dsmMax before if I remember correctly you could change antialiasing settings for reflected or refracted objects so I thought maybe the same is here.

                Nope.

You dont need to follow the universal settings, just switch your AA from subdivision to QMC.

if you use a vraylight materail as your light source, stick a vraylight with skylight portal ticked in front of it, and this will remove the poor, splotchy light

                      Not as such.
More of a case of try it and see what happens.
