  • Searching for the problem

    Hello friends !

Today I am confrontated with a problem, that brings 3dsmax all the time to crash.

I render a image with 320x240 with the same settings, and the image renders very well.

I change the resolution to 720x486 and 3dsmax is crashing.

Hmm, any ideas what can be the problem ?

I've checked the RAM, but that seems to be ok.

    Thx for every little help,

    Try:

Rendering with an override gray material at the higher resolution (My guess it sounds like a material problem)

    Catch:

Try hiding all your layers and rendering. Then add 1 layer back in at a time until it crashes.

You do have all your objects organized onto layers, don't you?

is there any errors showing up in the vray log. If its a material problem
          often things will popup there.

...best method to find errors is take the first half of the objects and render...if it doesn´t crash it´s in the second half...than take a half of the second half and so on...

It's like the method to look for a Lion in Africa.
Devide Africa in half, which one has the lion ? Until you restrict the area.
Run the saffari and go for shooting.

              Divide and Conquest !

                haha..

yes, I felt like I was on a never ending hunting trip....
however, couldn't find the material, and so I've assinged none material to all and started from zero....

Unfortunately the best you can do is continue to half like was suggested a few posts up.

Hide half, render, hide half render, and soon you'll come to the problem layer. There isn't a better way usually. Apologies
