  • animated daylight system

    Hello together,
I tried to animate a daylight-system. The setup consists of a vray sun + sky and GI with irradiancemap and lightcache. The irradiancemap is calculated with the medium - animation preset. The lightcache is calculated with 500 subdivs and single-frame-mode. I know that it does not work with vlados animation-workflow in the tutorial-zone. So I tried to calculate the GI for every frame, but even get strong flickering. Do I have to increase the settings more or is there another trick with light animations,
    thank you,
    Stefan

The LC should be set to flythru mode ideally.

As for the flickering do you have any animated objects in the scene?

Perhaps you could post a preview of the animation.

      Hello daforce,
thank you for helping me out of probs.
no, there are no animations further more except from the daylight-system and a animated-camera.
a preview you can see under:

Just having a look at the file now (downloading)

As a side note, animated lights and IRmap do not mix well. Lots of flicking unless you use really high settings.

You might be best to use QMC/LC but it will be slower.

Yep the flickering is identical to what I had when I did the animation for my avatar.

Ir map wont work in that situation without really high settings. Your best of using QMC/LC or LC/LC (althought LC/LC isnt very good quality)
