Yeah well adding more light will definitly help.As I had mentioned

You seem to have your "LWF" setup oddly.

You have the max gamma 2.2 set in the output for the bitmaps not the input, and you dont have vray's color mapping set to 2.2 gamma.

Try switching those around and see if it helps.

weird co i think i have it correct, the only thing is that i am not burning the gamma in, just using vfb to preview...

Weird, the file I have has the 2.2 in the output and the 2 other tick boxes above .. unticked.
What is it with the files you give me... lol

If you have a recent version of vray (more recent than RC3) set the gamma to 2.2 and tick affect colors only. Similar to what chris did in his vray vs quality video. It samples the darker areas better while still giving you a non gamma burned in image.
          AFAIK.

Depends if you have it set to load with file or not. Which I do.

will check again when I get home... *shrugs*

But I certainly would never set them that way.

i ve been setting gamma like that - as on the picture - for years..but recently there have been few times when the correct gamma properties have not been imported properly with the image.....ask me why i dont know...possibly another max 9 bug...

Daforce: lol...i kno wi ve send u a few messed up scenes recently but believe or ot ive done this one in about 12 hours time, so i didi not have a lot of time to think about stuff, so i employed vray automator and i used the textures i am used to use. what i plan to do is that i wanna archive the whole scene later on, unrar it somewhere and rework a few big textures that i wont need to be so big.....anyway...the noise problem surprised me as we had a few scenes in Teabag Studios that were lit only with the sun a nd no noise was apparent....

in your qmc sampler what is your adaptive amount set to? if its 1.0 then try 0.85, if its 0.85 try 1.0

                          hahaha yeah.. so true.

But currently only on 32bit. So not much point going more than 3 really. But you know...

Will one day make the switch.

I have a tutorial on Gnomonology that really clarifies all of of this and tries to simply all of your noise issues in as few variables as possible. This could be exactly what you want...
