  • 1.5 DR problem???

In RC3 DR worked like a charm...I was in heaven. Now with 1.5 I can't get it to work anymore. My DR slaves say "Render completed" right after they start, then is says they are not responding. If I reinstall RC3 they work again. Any ideas?

Most likely you did not specify where the license server is when you installed 1.5 on the render slaves.

When installing on the render slaves, select the "Render slave" installation type; at the end of the installation, you will be prompted to enter the IP of the machine where you have the V-Ray license server and the dongle installed. The slaves must be able to connect to a license server (although they will not take any licenses from it).

    Best regards,
    Vlado
I only act like I know everything, Rogers.

That was it! Initially I just left it as localhost, but with the IP address everything is working again.

      thanks Vlado.

You should also try sort out those first 2 warnings as well

That was from a scene that I'm not working on anymore so it's water under the bridge...but I have gotten that camera warning before in other scenes. Any ideas on what's going on there, how to avoid it in the future? The material and lighting one I'm not overly concerned about...especially since I know it was a material and not a light.

I believe that can arise from using the old camera correct modifier, and having max shader context enabled. (you can turn that off in the vray:system rollout)

I was using a standard camera with the camera correct modifier...so that would be it. That's good to know. Thanks.
