  • How to render 7200x5200 ?

    Hello friends !

Today I've got a request to render a high resolution image for print.
My client would liek to have a 7200x5200 image.

Hmm, how can I render such a monster ?

    thx a lot,

Render straight to vray image.. vryimg.

    Might need to render stripes...

How big is the print they need.. in inches? they may be wanting something like 300DPI which would be not necessary for a large poster/sign. They are usually rendering 150 or less. usually a lot less.

      I'm having almost same problem. I need a 72-150 dpi for a 48"x96" sign!
I think the vrimg is going to be okay, but so far the slaves can't keep up...

        Hi Bernhard,

We render at those resolutions sometimes, nothing special really. Just uncheck 'render to memory frame buffer' in the vray frame buffer rollout.

largest we did until now was 12000 pixels wide, don't remember the height.

        Hope it helps
A full render queu is a thing of beauty !

I would say strip rendering, (use the overlap feature) hope you got some decent machines, it took me 3 days and 3 nights to do a 7k px wide image on an old dual Xeon, it broke my freakin heart,
          good luck
Accept that some days you are the pigeon, and some days you are the statue.

                See here.
                http://www.spot3d.com/vray/help/150R1/vfb_index.html

                Its part of the VFB.

There are plenty of ways of lowering memory usage and this can be one of them.

Untick "render to memory buffer" and set max's render size to 1x1 pixel and then "untick get resolution from max" in the VFB then that should use alot less memory AFAIK..

do a test first tho.. hehe
