Max crashing with new vray?

We just installed max 9 sp2 32bit and vray 1.5000 and max crashes instantly for us here at the office as well.

But it only happens when we start or restart a spawner. And sometimes max crashes on 2 workstations at the same time.

ouchhhh !!! i dont like when i read this post...

should we wait before installing the vray 1.5 until beginning of october. Cause i have read that it should be a correction .We don't have any time here to loose in the installation process. And it cost us a lot of money when there is a problem with Vray. Almost as expansive as the Vray himself each time we upgrade.

Last time when we upgrade from 1.49 to 1.53 we loose 3 days. Can't tell you the stress and the money, i am sure you know what it is.

its not all doom and gloom.
I have only had a couple of minor issues but its more max or server issues than Vray.

You might be able to get Vlado to just send you the SP1 version. Just send him an email....or wait until October when it's released.

So as far as crashes with older files in VIZ 2008, this seems to be caused by V-Ray materials with the "show map in viewport" button checked in DirectX mode. This is now corrected for the SP and works with both DirectX and OpenGL.

I'm expiriencing the same problem as natty apparently... crash in 10min or so and even less, no reason and it happens in all files and/or empty max. it's just frustating
