  • clamp output & don't affect colours (adaptation only)

    is this a problem:

if you want a clamped output & you have "don't affect colours (adaptation only)" ticked, the output isn't clamped. I want the sampling to be performed at gamma 2.2, but don't want the colours to be over 1.0 float as it's causing problems for some objects....

is it a problem, or expected output?
If it's expected output, i'd make a wish list that with don't affect colours on, the clamp output should be greyed out to avoid this confusion....

    can anyone confirm this?

i've tested it now with 1.50.00.

is it because if your going to clamp your output, you might as well burn any gamma settings into the image, as it won't be a full float image, and therefore any sampling will be at the same brightness as the final baked image colours, (rather than at a higher 2.2 gamma for exr's but still saved as 1.0 gamma)

    does that make any sence?

This is changed for the SP1, where clamping is always applied if the "Clamp output" option is on, regardless of the "Don't affect colors" option.

      Best regards,

I only act like I know everything, Rogers.
