It has been reported and I'm looking into it; does it work if you merge the scene into a new file?

          I use CAD file linking

When I would merge my "old" file into a new file, the link with my CAD-modeling file is gone, and then its impossible to modify the scene.

          Unless thats no longer true

merging IS still posible, no errors there, just de linking-problem

I see; well I'm downloading VIZ2008 now and I'll let you know what happens as soon as I find something out.

              Damn

I installed Vray 1.50.00 on my laptop
And the laptop succesfull opened the file (though it took some time)

The PC with the problem is a QuadCore
I just read an other problem I am having too, loosing my lisence, though I have a dongle. "ctrl alt delete" fixes that problem for a moment.
That problem only occurs on the Quadcore too.

As far as license problems are concerned, would it be possible to contact me directly to vlado@chaosgroup.com so that we can figure out what is going on?

                Best regards,

I was getting the same error when I hit the render button on a certain scene. Everytime and immediately upon clicking render. My other scenes worked fine with 1.5, but this one kept crashing. Turned out to be one of the car models that I use all the time. Deleted the car--no more crashes.

I know it's not the same problem you're having, but maybe there is something inside the scene that 1.5 does not like and won't even open.

I have had similar problems since upgrading. When loading the old scene, max crashes out . The strange thing is that when I load max again and load the scene, it doesnt crash. So the problem is intermittant. Merging the file also works without problem.

I´m loving the tabbed render settings in 1.5

Well, I installed VIZ2008 but I could not reproduce this with any of my old scenes; would it be possible for someone to send me a crashing scene over to vlado@chaosgroup.com?

                      Best regards,
                      Vlado
