  • frosted glass clear viewed through clear glass?

    Hello,
Not sure what's going on here
Frosted glass in doors is clear viewed through clear glass on the stair?
The glass panel in the door is a separate object, so no multi-sub objects used.

vray 1.5 and viz 2008 used, just installed yesterday, woo hoo

    Thanks

Do by any chance have the Max. reflection/refraction depth option checked in the Global switches rollout?

Just did a quick test here and it seemed to work fine; but if you override the material depth with the global option, you may get this effect.

    Best regards,
    Vlado

      Vlado,

I'm rendering the scene from another angle at the moment so I'll check tomorrow.
      Thanks for the quick reply.

      Geoff

      EDIT

just checked the render from another angle and the problem hasn't occured! hmmm strange. Maybe it was just my low quality settings for the tests?

Well, if your low-quality settings include using the global reflection/refraction depth override, then yes

        Best regards,

Thanks SV. it's going to nothing special really. No 'dressing' the scene. Client can't visualise the stair in their house, that's all.

found the problem....forgot to put glass in the door
            thanks for your help Vlado

I am looking at this on a crap wuxga laptop screen, but looking at the histogram i think it is a bit blown out.

How about something like this? It's a simple curve in photoshop.

Btw, nice floor material. Care to share some settings?
