  • sun and sky

    Hi everybody.

I have some problem with vray sun and Sky.

I make some exterior scene using Vray sun and Sky.
When I render, with classical texture ( with a correct illumination) all is overbright. If y correct the exposure in the physical cam to make it correct, the Sky is too dark. (I use SRGB correction, or some tweak on curves to approach it)

So to get a correct sky and correct illumination of my materials, I need to make a 0.5 color correction on all my diffuse.

Is anyone having a solution ? ( sun and / or sky tweak or anything else)

    Thanks.

    sun/sky

are you using the latest release. The pre-release had an issue with the sky darkness.

Did you use an old scene for this, or it's a new one from scratch?

        Best regards,

          From scratch.

I had the same problem with Vray RC1 2 and 3

and when I use SRGB correction, due to the fact that I use color correction at 0.5 on all my diffuse, the image is desaturated.

So I don't use SRGB correction for the moment.

In that case, if you can post some images, it would be helpful.

              Best regards,

instead of applying post correction, use the script i provided for the ".255 method" thread in the tips and tricks.
The darker the diffuse, the brighter the sky.
It's very easy to compensate for a whole set of maps in a complex scene within a second or two.
