  • splotches on fine bmup areas

    The last job I did involved som boat interiors, on some of the fabric covered area with fine bumps I had big problems getting rid of the splotches.

    Using more or less "universal settings", I was wondering if there is a specific setting that I should concentrate on that takes care of these kind of problems..

    Which V-Ray version is this? Also, what is your primary GI engine?

      Sorry about that, this is rc3 and using IR for first and LC for second..

        Does it look the same without the bump? Not sure where might be the problem right away - if it is in the bump or in the irradiance map subdivs.

          I guess the problems is the sampling in the bump area, I could do some tests, but the broblem showd up on some other areas where there were some fine fabric bumps..
          I am guessing the problem lies in the Irradience map sampling, and I was wondering if maybe lowering the the "Normal threshold" could fix this..?
          I guess I should do some more testing..
