seriously weird 'black render' bug

I just threw in a spot light with vray shadow into a scene and its rendering all geometry totally black, the only reason i can see anything is because of the sky.

the texture editor is rendering okay though.

so i save as a new file name, and reboot and all is fine again!

turn the light back on and its still fine.

this happened to me before. Switching from vray to scanline and back also fixes this.
