  • Can't get my white background behind matte objects

    Hi,
Sometimes when I want to composite a hidden line version of my renders with the normal output i use the following technique :
    - I render my image as I do normally
    - Then I select all of the objects in the scene and make them matte (through vray properties)
    - Then I assign a vraytoon effect to the environment
    - I make the environment background in max White
    - I also turn vray environment to White

This way I get a nice hidden line render with fully black lines on a pure white background wich I can easily composite using a multiply blending in photoshop.

This always worked for me until today : as you can see on the attached image the background is white indeed, but everything behind the objects is dark grey. Am I doing something wrong here or what ?

Do you have any color mapping or exposure control enabled?

    Best regards,
    Vlado
I only act like I know everything, Rogers.

Oh yes, forgot about that : I initially had gamma correction applied. So I put it back to 1 but still the same. Also played around with Affect Background option but no chance.
What do you mean by "exposure control" ? the camera itself ? I'll check that too...

:::Update::: Thanks a lot mr. Vlado ! it was the exposure of the camera indeed : had to deactivate it and now it works perfectly.
