  • problem rendering animation

    Hi.

I'm trying to render an interior scene animation but I have some problems:

    Here's my process:

I first render the irradience map in animation prepass mode. When I render the irrad map, it seems too dark, (I don't use lightcache at this time) but I let finish.

When the irrad map rendering is finished, I start the final rendering using irraddiance map rendering mode and Light cache in single frame mode.

I get a very dark image like the is no light cache just irrad map.

when I make a still render using irrad map and light cache it works perfectly.

    What's wrong in my method?

    Thanks everyone

A Bullet proof method I would try is this:

    IMAP Prepass Setup

Global: "Don't render final image" ticked

    Primary Bounce: IMAP
    Secondary: Light Cache

    Imap mode: Animation prepass
    Save File

    Light cache:
    Mode: Fly-through
Tick Store Direct light (to save the light cache with the imap)
    Don't save

    -----

    Once finished

    Primary Bounce: IMAP
    Secondary: None

    Imap settings:
    From File: *file*

      Great.

      I will try this.

      But somme question.

I seen when you tick store direct light in the light cache, the direct light is interpolated by the light cache computation and is not so precise.

      Is it true?

      Thanks very much

yes i think there's some truth to that. If you find its a little splotchy looking, you can separate the light cache from the irrad map.

you cannot use lc with irmap animation mode; the lc will make it flicker.

This statement is true, however to get better sampling on your light, you'll need to up your imap settings.
