Ok guys, I have done due dilegence with the "search" feature but am still a confused.
1.5 Final, 64-bit max 9, 64-bit Vray, 64-bit XP & Vista, some machines with 4G, some with 8G.
We are looking for some "rules-of-thumb" with regards to what size to set our dynamic memory and whether to use automatic or static. Test are inconclusive.
The scenes are geometrically light but heavy on texture maps and large 3d displacement maps. Our rendernodes are only using about 10% of the CPU with automatic set and about 25-50% using static and we are setting the dynamic memory at 1/2 available (2G on 4G machines & 4G on 8G machines). LC+brute force primary. Everything is generally rendering w/o crashing but are obviosly insanely slow with the CPU use where it is at. Machines are quad core Q6600 & Q6700s. Any help is much appreciated.
