render to texture wierdness

  • render to texture wierdness

    I was trying to render a dirt map to a texture, the object are a mesh with a displace (max native), and to get good definition on the mesh I cranked up the tesselation using a turbosmooth modifier.
    However on a subdivision higher than two I get the result on the left, the image on the right are with subdivision 2..

    I am using a vraydiffusefiltermap

    Do you have by any chance portions of the mesh that map to the same UV coordinates?

      If you mean if there are overlaps, then no..
      The wierd thing is that it renders ok, all up to 3 subdivisions in the smooth modifier.

        Oh, ok. What if you scale your scene up? Probably the triangles end up being very small.
