  • V-Ray 1.5 SP1 DR Service + Workstation

    I've encountered an interesting problem.

I have DR running as a service on my workstation and CPU usage shows 0 once it has initialized. If I open Max as well it will stay on 50% CPU usage even with an empty scene.

If I stop the DR Service and the Max Session and restart the Max session on its own it will drop to 0% CPU usage once it has initialized.

As far as I know I don't need to have the DR Service running on the PC that the scene gets submitted from right?

This is correct, you don't need the service on the client machine were you start the rendering from.

    Best regards,

I only act like I know everything, Rogers.

One would then need to use remote service start and stop tools as discussed on the forum if you want to use other workstations for DR that are also used during the day for normal Max sessions.

Unless of course I shouldn't be seeing this 50% CPU usage issue... Will test around on some of the other machines.
