  • photometric spots hard edges

    Hi,

I'd like to use photometric spotlights in my interior scene. In some cases the spotlights produce hard edges. The spots in the image have a hotspot value of 53 to (Falloff) 90:

This is by comparison a standard spot with the same falloff/hotspot values:

Does anybody know this problem ? Moreover how to get around it ?

    Hi Peter,

I think you should try using an IES file with the photometric light to control its distribution. There are loads on websites like iGuzzini etc. Just look for a light fitting that has a falloff you like then download the IES.

      Need spots

      Well thanx,

but actually for some quick setups I like the simple usability of the standard spot. Just have not the time to evaluate multiple IES , if I quickly want to adjust the falloff ...
