photometry and ies files

Our lighting consultant has provided ies webs for our downlights, we apply the ies files to the photometric lights and the lumen value on the parameter sidebar is perfect on point 2720 lm

but the scene is just way too dark, am i missing something here, this is not the first time this has happened but i cant seem to figure out why ineed to jack up the multiplier to get the light intensity right

our lighting consultant used agi32 and their images look way more evenly lit than mine, any tips here?

Why would you change the light multiplier; you can simply adjust the overall scene brightness from the Color mapping options of V-Ray or use a VRayPhysicalCamera with the correct settings (shutter speed/f-number/film ISO) for your scene.

ok, switched to vray physcam, interior starting to look great but the environment is crazy blown out its almost like the almighty is beaming through the glass, ive toyed with the camera settings and done many tuts, switched from linear, to exponential, fumbled through gammas, the only way to get the environment under control is in the exponential mappings and darker values

my vray light intensities end up having to go up

so hard to wrap myself around this program sometimes, every scene is a challenge to just get it started, it gets very frustrating

is there anyone who would be willing to give this scene a couple minutes to get it under control, im so lost here

Well, it is an issue that you would get were you to actually photograph the scene - you can't have the interior and the exterior with the same light level since the sun is so much brighter than any light bulb.

With that said, one obvious solution is to use dark-tinted windows that would bring the environment down to a visible range.
