  • Vray Frame Buffer

Using the new vray 1.5 SP1 with Max 20008. The track mouse pointer feature of the vray frame buffer doesn't seem to work.

    Anyone else have this trouble?

    TIA

        re

How big of a resolution can you go when using the Vray frame buffer, rending to the raw format? What's the methodology?

There is no specific limit to the resolution although anything larger than 32767 x 32767 is likely to cause problems - not with memory, but with some internal integer maths.

The thing to remember here is to turn off the "Get resolution from MAX" option for the VFB and specify only a small resolution for the Common tab of the render scene dialog, and set the actual resolution in the V-Ray VFB directly.

          Best regards,
          Vlado

Yes, I tried once to render an image at 34,000 px for an enormous poster image. I had to settle for 32,000 pixels because of that problem...
