  • Vray Light "Cut" or Map?

    Hi there,

i got a little scene with a larger vray light. the problem is that a part of the vray light should not be illuminated. Is there any way to solve this? The vray lightmat does not emit shadows, so it is no help.
    Any suggestions

    Thanks all

    Lisa

    Hi Lisa,

Not to sure what you are talking about but the VrayLightMat does cast shadows, you may need to increase you gi settings to see the effect. Have you thought about using a couple of vray lights instead of one big one so you can "spilt" the light up.

    Cheers

      thx for reply,

i did not even try the lightmat, i read that in a topic! I am so emberressed :-I

Multiple Vraylights would not work, because i would need about 10 to "puzzle" it. And i cannot get below 1 in the subdivision section. That comes to a pain */($ยง"% when it comes to test renders.

I'll check the lightmat for now, hihi.

      cheers

      Liz

you could also put a blocker in front of the vraylight. directly aligned plane slighty offset. Might be rather slow tho too esp if you are using an opacity map
