  • VRLicense service problem

    Hello people,

For some reason the license service for vray is not loading automaticly anymore.
havent change anything and all was working.

So when i reboot i have to disable the license server.
then restart it and all is fine.

When i try i stop the service i get an error a couple of time "128" or something. but i restart the service fine and it's working.

    perhaps any1 has an idea?

Which V-Ray and OS version is this? Do you get any errors in the Windows Event viewer?

    Best regards,
    Vlado

      hey Vlado,

after checking the eventlog, i saw some errors. not cause by vrlicence but deu others.
      hasp driver
and NTGDT.sys << ? no idea what this was.

i removed all links to them form registery and rebooted.
now those errors are gone and it seems vrlicense i working again.
my guess will be that i had a conflict with the hasp drivers, but not 100% sure that this was it.
Anyways it's working again and no more error in the eventlog

Hmm seems the problem is back again, however now i have no errors in the eventlog, the onlyone from the VRlicense services:

The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( VRLService ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: Service started.

if i stop the service i get error 128, then i can start i again and it works... ??

Can you show me the exact Event Viewer log (you can email this to vlado@chaosgroup.com)? You can also try to put a shortcut to the license server in your Startup folder, rather than registered as a service, this should work fine.

          Best regards,
          Vlado
