  • spots in glass ?

    Hello friends !

    I do have a serious problem - tried to find a solution, but couldn't.

    The glass on the door, is a standard vray material, the rerfraction is pure white, and I set the glossy in the refraction to 0.9.

    As you can see white, crispy spots on some parts of the door and also on the carpet.
    And if you take a closer look on the carpet, you can see weired shadows too .... hmm....

    Any idea what could be the problem ?

    thx for every little help,

    These are GI caustics; turn on the "Affect shadows" option for the glass and it should be fine.

    Best regards,

        hmmm

        Hello and thx for your help vlado, like always.

        I just started a new test render and hopefully it will fix that problem.
        Does it mean I have to check the affect shadows all the time using gi render with some glossy effects in the refraction ?

        @Da_elf:
        haha, yeah, I really have to think about it - maybe swifer makes it possible, they had just a cool and funny commercial running on the tv ... lol:

        thank you guys,

          If you want to get rid of the spots, then yes Another option would be enable Caustics in the Indirect illumination tab, but actually disable all individual lights from generating caustic photons from the V-Ray Light Settings dialog.
