  • matte issue...

since i am working on bit bigger project a lot of new question arise.
    here is one (to vlado?)

i am rendering this highway scene in 3 steps.
    1) terrain with terragen for the background,
    2) all still objects with a matte terrain (i am aware of the jagged shadows on the matte; that is a bug as pointed out by vlado).
    3) moving cars and all the rest as matte objects

now here is my problem in step 3: some parts of the railing, which are set to matte, have shining through some blue color. if i turn of the railing it is gone. but i need the railing for velocity channel, reflection etc.

I'm not quite sure what may be causing it; if you can post just that portion of the scene, or email it to me at vlado@chaosgroup.com I'll be able to tell you more.

    Best regards,
    Vlado

I sent you an email yesterday.

Basically, if you go to the V-Ray object settings dialog for the problematic objects and turn down the "GI amount" (in the lower right corner of the dialog) to 0.0, it will be fine (since the objects do not cast or receive GI anyways).

            Best regards,
            Vlado

May have been trapped as spam or something... anyways, let me know if this solves your issue.

                Best regards,
