I have two machines (let's call them #1 and #2). I bought the most recent version of Vray, installed it on #1 with the dongle, and slaved #2. Both are networked, BB works fine both ways with scanline; the machines are properly talking to each other. Rendering on #1 with Vray works fine, but I get the "...could not obtain a license" on #2. Could someone please tell me what these settings should be("Edit/set license server information"), on each machine? I did what the installation guide said, but I just can't get this to work...maybe I'm missing something. Any help would be very much appreciated!!

Problem with obtaining License

Basically, the Edit/set licence server information should contain the IP address of the machine where the V-Ray license server is running with the dongle;
Are you able to connect to the V-Ray license server from the other machines with a web-browser - that is, on the slave, you open Internet explorer and type "http://servermachine:30304" without the quotes where servermachine is the IP of the machine where the license server is running, what do you get?

Yes, the browser displays the info of the host computer (the exact same info as displayed on the host when I open the browser there):
Render licenses: Total=1, engaged=0, Free=1
Interface licenses: Total=1, engaged=1, Free=0
Network=10000, DR=10
Do I need to input the "Online authorization settings" as well? The guide never mentioned it.

There is no need to enter anything in the Online section. Other things to try:
1) open 3ds Max on the slave (if it has a registered 3ds max), assign V-Ray as the renderer and try to render an empty scene. What kind of error do you get in the V-Ray messages window?
2) open a command prompt (select Start menu > Run... and type "cmd" without the quotes and press Enter), and then type in the command prompt this:Code:telnet serverip 30304

to birdman67: this happens here from time to time, too. but actually this shouldn't be, as one license is only for one GUI at a time.
