  • Vray Displacment and HairFX

HairFX did not accept VRay displacement...

Is there any existing or upcomming solution for that?

    Thank You!

I think that if you are specifying the displacement map through a material, HairFX will be able to take this into consideration (at least, Shag:Hair used to do this before).

I try to do this... But it's difficult to ajust the displacement map to fit correctly with the Vray displacement... There is no "shift parametter" in the displacement slut!

Did you know if ChaostGroup manage to create a viewport displacement modifier with the same setting. With a second geometry with less polygons (even with the same geometry with lower setting in viewport...), it should be possible to use a lot of third parties plugins... It will help for 3dsmax intégration.

I don't need all the time a great precision between geometry and fur. The fur don't car about micro displacement....

      Thank you!

You could use max displacement to approximate the vray displacement and make a mesh to emit the hair.

        Vlado is ChaosGroup btw
