  • VRayDirt Problem

    Hi,

I've been playing lately with VRayDirt and I can't get the results I want.

I'd like that the gradients shown in this image went from black to white, but I'm only able to go from say 50% to white.

(Image with no GI calculations, only direct light and VRayDirt. Right side PSed)

I understand that what I'm asking is that a point being 50% occluded (for example) to be shaded like it was fully occluded, but I'd like to use VRayDirt to mask textures and I'm never able to get a full clean occluded texture on the places where faces met, I always get a mixture of both textures.

I've tried to play with distribution and falloff without luck, they only seem to change the way same gray to white gradient is displayed.

Is there a way to achieve this?

    Thanks

You can put the VRayDirt map inside an Output map and play with the RGB level/offset/clamping to get the effect that you want (e.g. turn clamping on, set the RGB level to 2.0 and RGB offset to -1.0).

    Best regards,
    Vlado

      Hey Vlado,

this is what I get now playing with the Output curves:

A bit noisier now but with some tweaking I think it'll do the job.

      Thanks
