  • DR and BB not the same buckets

    hello all

It was posted before for sure... but I don't found a solution for my problem.

If I render a job trough BB and use DR, my computer (the comp that gets the job) renders the buckets to bright. there is a difference in brightness.

does anybodyelse has a problem like that?

I work in LWF. all computers render the maps, so there is not the problem.

    best regards

Is it just a slight difference? We have this problem occasionally, but not consistently. It is not caused by any of the known issues such as regional settings, different versions of vray, etc.

Workaround: Render the lighting pass on one machine, then then do DR via BB on the render pass, loading the saved IR and LC maps. Like you would with animations or strip renders. Its slower, but still faster than strip render...

Thanks, but the OS regions and settings thing is not the problem. I can run DR via BB on a rendering and get a few mis-matched buckets. I can then do the exact same rendering and it works fine. The only workaround that always works is doing a lighting pre-pass, and loading the resulting light maps when sending the DR via BB render pass.

Basically, I don't worry about it for drafts, but on important final renders, I always do a prepass.
