  • VRay1.5sp1-PSD Manager 2-Opacity mapping

I'm trying out PSD Manager v2 with VRay to simplify my masking needs, but have problems with bushes with dense opacity mapped leaves. Whether I use Object-ID's, material-ID's or seperated object layers, I keep getting more transparent masks then they should. The image shows the alpha for the bush (middle) and the PSDManager generated mask (lower). How can I fix this ?

You can try to increase the max. g-buffer layers from the 3ds Max Preferences dialog and see if it helps.

      Hi Vlado,

When setting buffers to 100 the mask improves but there is still "transparency" around the edges as shown in the attachment. It does not get better when raising the spinner to max (=999). FYI with FinalRender I do get clean masks !

I will need a scene for this to test; if you have one that you can send me to vlado@chaosgroup.com I'll check what may be wrong.

        Best regards,
        Vlado
