  • Two Bugs that keep crashing or making life annoying

Be nice if I could open the material editor and not crash out every 5 th or 6th time I do it.
Be nice to have proxies not kill my view port performance.
We upgraded most of out proxies to max 9 ones from max 7 ones and the view port still sucks with proxies.
I know this has been mentioned be myself and others many times, just wondering when it will get fixed? We are on service pack 2 , max 9, 64 bit XP on Dual quad Intel with 8 gigs.
We love VRAY but these crashes are getting in the way....
    Cheers

We don't have either of these bugs. We're in 2008 and no problems with material editor crashes. We have Vray 1.5 sp1 and we're having no problems with proxies slowing down the viewports. Maybe you should go back to the geometry files and recreate your proxies in the current vray.

What graphics card do you have? If its not a software issue, that is going to be the key thing affecting your viewport performance. I have the ATI FireGL 1GB and its a rocket in 2008.

We have Quadro 4600,s and even with new proxies we get the slow down. We have hundreds of proxies too so it's not really practical either....
We might make the move to 2008 but we can't until summer....

I think the material editor issues should be solved for newer releases; for the proxies there isn't anything else that we can do - we have left all the display routines of the proxies to 3ds Max itself and this is no longer handled directly by our code.

          Best regards,
