  • Flickering prob, anyone able to see where I am going wrong,

Just spent the guts of the bank holiday weekend trying to resolve a flickering issue with my scene, really frustrated at the lack of progess I've made with the flickering. I have uploaded a stripped down version of the file to http://www.coastal-cottage.com/max%20files
(the problem is still evident in this file) if anyone is willing to have a look. I never realised rendering an animation could be so testing.

Right now I dont know if what I am trying to do can be done without having to use high settings and unbearable render times, I hope it Vray is more robust than that, dont mean to whinge but I'll just remember St.Paddys Weekend 2008 as "Ah I remember it well, I spent the whole weekend trying to sort our a flickering Render" not the typical reminiscence I associate with our national holiday

What part of the scene are you having flickering problems in? Can you upload some images that show the problem areas?

Are you rendering the LC and irradiance map for every individual frame?

Sorry, I should have been more specific. My original problem (lights looking bad) with this scene was was posted here http://www.chaosgroup.com/forums/vbu...ad.php?t=41186 anyways with the usual friendly help of the forum I got that sorted.
As I tried a few renders the flickering became an issue, you can see the flickering localised to where the two roofs meet, (see here http://www.coastal-cottage.com/rende...st%20soren.mov) I decided to open a new thread on this problem to try and get this resolved.
I ititially started out using the preset 'medium -animation setting and an LC of 1000, I have learnt that LC has to be single as the lights are animated, did have the doors animated but quit that as it was not advised when using Multiframe Incre for the Irmap. The only things that are animated are the lights, inc the vray sun, vray sky and the camera.

hope that clears it a bit,
        thanks,
        Tom

          yep LC for every frame,
IR map, tried both multiframe incre'l and single, at the medium preset, maybe i should add more Hspheres?

Missed that one , ok so from that post I see single frame is out cos it causes flickering,
I am still on RC 3 (did what i needed till now) so I have a few days wait till 1.5 sp x dongle arrives, fot this project that will be too late.
