  • Random dark frames

    Hi everybody,

I am coming across a strange problem. When I render a sequence i get a random darker frame every about 30 frames.

The way I am rendering is IR and brute force. The Irradience has been generated with multiframe incremental and stored in the server with the maps.

The render farm has about 22 machines all reading maps and IRR map from the file server (WIN 2003 SERVER) and render machines have VRAY 1.5 SP1

The latest Backburner controls the render queue....

Any ideas anyone..... this is driving me insane.... I will take on smoking and drugs!!!!

Maybe is a different setting of the lut in just one render node, that gives you the darker result?
check out if that error comes from the same machine. If the error comes just from the same machine i would think its a lut config problem.

    hope that helps.

    Onz

with DR i tried a while back (just for fun) to set one machine's gamma different to the rest. It made no difference what I set it as on the slave machines, it always rendered correct. I mean the max settings on the slave machines did not influance the render, as long as everything is correct on my workstation

        Kind Regards,

I think in DR there is no problem but in backburner for animation its other story.

Can you post and example? is it dropping the GI completely or just slightly darker?

It's most likely a problem with your network and it's ability to access maps.

I had any issue with this before. It turned out that one of our workstations, not our render farm, was not updated to the latest build. It just takes one workstation with 1.5.00 to mess it all up.
