  • Small Problem with 1.5 SP2

Not sure if I'm doing something wrong or not, but I shall try to explain the problem.

I have installed the latest version of Vray, 1.5 SP2, so it now works with 3ds max design 2009. It works fine on the local machine, however, when I try to send it to the render slave via Backburner (Latest Build 2008.1), it does not see any servers when I click on Connect. If I click Connect, it appears to Connect, but does not show the server in the servers list, I can even click on Submit, but it just stays in the queue.

Bizzarely, I also installed SP2 for Max 2008 and this works fine both locally and on the Slave, also using the latest Backburner version.

All Licence settings are correct, I have installed, uninstalled and reinstalled SP2 on the render slave, with no joy.

    Any help appreciated

    Regards

    i had same problem here,
when i've installed max 2009 on slaves, backburner was unchecked by default (havn't recognized). so i had to uninstall the old bb first on all slaves, and then reinstall new one.

    now works fine.

Still not having any luck with this. I have uninstalled both max2008 and max2009 and reinstalled just max2009, on both the workstation and render slave. I have even installed the previous backburner edition and still it will not show the servers.

I realize this is a backburner problem and not a Vray problem, but any other suggestions greatly appreciated.

*update* just fantastic. I have reinstalled max2008 and guess what... it can no longer see the render server. Just great. This wouldn't usually be a problem, but I have a project to finish by Thursday afternoon. Aaaaarrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhh

        OK, I'm an idiot.

The problem was me not Vray or backburner. I hadn't ticked the 64bit servers option in the advanced box of backburner.

        DOH!

same problem with one of our clients, tried reïnstalling, and your solution with the 32/64 bits.
Even checked if everything is working in the same subnetmask..still no solution.
