  • V-Ray Sun Error

I was trying out the daylight system with V-Ray Sky & Sun and found that the sun stretches in the animation that I set.

It's possible that I've set up something incorrectly but in case I haven't I've attached the actual scene as well. The image was rendered at frame 88 in Max 2009.

-on a side note would anyone be able to tell from this scene if I have my LWF set up correctly?

This happens whenever the sun crosses the horizon. In the real world, you cannot really see the portion of the sky below the horizon either. You can use a VRayPlane for the ground, which is infinite and will cut off the stretched portion.

Well that's too bad, I thought I was going to be useful for once.

You are right that it's probably not very intuitive; I suppose it can be made so that the sun disk at least is preserved.

If it's correct there's no point in spending time "fixing" it.
