Frame Stamp and Maxscript

Hi,
Im having trouble using the frame stamp to print out vray parameters through max script. Shouldn't this
%"renderers.current.gi_on"
return the text true or false? It seems to return nothing at all. (Im using the max frame buffer)

Is this broken or something?
