  • vray IES double sided

    hello vlado

It seems that vray IES lights are double sided! every light also lights up the ceiling. this looks strange, because it then lights the lamp, too.

...and this target... you cannot create a free light with one click. when you create a light, then you always have to reorient the light if you wont have a target.

The lighting information comes from the IES profile; many light fixtures have openings at the back for cooling reasons which allow some of the light to shine from the back.

    Best regards,
    Vlado

      thanks vlado
but, why there's a difference between vrayIES and photometric lights from max? this double sided problem only appears with vrayIES and not with photometric IES from max.
I will make a test and upload it later.

Because that data is actually in the IES file. Why 3ds Max does not show it, I don't know. It can be argued which version is an error.

            Best regards,
