  • Displace problem, Question?

    [URL=http://g.imageshack.us/g.php?h=382&i=displacetest001zw4.jpg][IMG]

    I have a ltillte trouble here with Vraydisplacement modifier, i have a scene with standard camera and direct light with vray shadow but the displace seems to have a little problem, i ve tested it with a vray sun and a vray physical cam and it does nt show the same result at all, is vraydisplacement modifier need vray light and vray camera? or what else cause this kind of problem.

    Its a 3d mapping displace with a simple bitmap (black with a white line as shown in pic)
    Displace setting are pretty much by default with my bitmap in the map slot, amount is at 1"

    Any explanation would be appreciated.

    Thx

      Your camera position and light look different from one image to the next. Have you tried to see if the error is still there if the camera and lights are in the exact position?

        You can either decrease the Edge length, if you are using 3d displacement, or increase the displacement resolution, if you are using 2d displacement.

          Yes camera position is slightly different, one is a standard max camera the other is a physical cam, manually created and not align to one another , it does nt really matter cuz i get the same bug in any angle, and my question is the vray displacement modifier is dependent of vray light and vray cam?

            If you are using 3d displacement and have the "View-dependent" option on (which it is by default) then the displacement tesellation will depend on the camera position.
