  • Exploding Trees!

    Whats going on here?
These are animated palms converted to vray proxies. This only happens on a few frames of a 1700 frame animation.
Using vray sun and standard camera rendering to odd fields
    settings:
Adap DMC 1 and 4 and catmull rom
Medium Irradience map and 1200 light cache
    Noise at 0.002

    Any suggestions?

Did you check if your camera has subframe keyframes maybe? looks like one of the fields is simply a different view.

What do you mean by subframe keyframe?
It only happens on the second part of the render, I'm guessing the field with the different view. Could you explain subframe, I think I know what your talking about but refresh my memory please.

I take it you're using the new VRProxies that enable animated objects. Aren't the animated files huge, or are you using low-res trees?

Well there can be animation between two frames, so if between to frames the camera would jump quite far without showing in the actual frame then the half frame offset for the second field could cause the explosions.

I put the original tree mesh back into the scene and that fixed the problem. I guess for some reason the field rendering didnt like the animated proxy meshes. Problem solved.
