  • Matte shadow with reflection

    Hi
I´m a bit new to vray, I have a scene were I have background image, now I have the scene as I want, but is there a way for the matte material not to reflect the enviroment
    ( background)?
I have searched the forum and tried different sollutions, with different materials and settings in vray object rollout.

Put a black VRay Color map into the environment slot of the material on the matte?

If anyone has the same problem
        >enable shadow
        >increase reflection amount above 1 (that works for shadows as well

side note: vray team, you should also rename shadow "brightness" to amount as well, it would make more sense

Hi, you could use the Matte properties from the "V-Ray object properties". There is a direct shortcut that converts your plane into a matte surface. You can find the button in the V-Ray toolbar.
Once you click on the button, you could apply a VRayMtl onto the plane with a specific reflectivity, which would mimic the environment. Here you can see a really quick example I made. In my case, I also used the Finite dome light.
