    Vista x64-node problem with DR:

[2008/Sep/28|17:31:36] error: UNHANDLED EXCEPTION: Updating materials (1)
Last marker is at .\src\renderlight.cpp, line 207: Preparing lights (VRayLight01-rpc)

It's a vraylight linked to the camera, with only RPC-trees included to light. Don't know if it matters, but the light is placed exactly on location of the camera, invisible checked.

The XP64-nodes have no problem rendering this though.
    All running Vray 1.5 SP2 x64.

Edit: The Vista x64 node doesn't report the error to the host, nor does it try to restart, it just stalls without any cpu-usage. The process has to be killed manually.

Have you installed the patch for the RPC plugin from the ArchVision site?

        Best regards,
        Vlado

*slaps forehead*.... not on the vista x64 node....
After installing the patch the node runs fine.

          Thanks Vlado!

            Problem revisited..

Now having the same unhandled exception on my workstation, xp64, max 2008 x64, vray 1.5 sp2

RPC fix has been installed some time ago, and was working fine.
Now I have a scene I can't get rendered with RPC's. But as soon as I hide them, it renders ok.

Tried reinstalling RPC plugin as well as the fix, but no difference.
I send you an email with the link to the file, in case you need it.

            Any ideas?

Can you do a quick test to see if it renders with sp1, if you still have the install around?

              Best regards,
              Vlado

I now removed all RPC content from the scene, and placed new ones. Scene rendering fine again now. So somewhere the RPC-content in the scene got corrupted i guess.
