understanding vray fur

hello all...

having a bit of an issue with fur in one of my scenes.

am working in meter scale as it is quite a large scnene.

vray fur does not let me go below the 1mm hair thickness...am i missing comethig or is that a limit comparing to the scale?

another thing is that area distribution does not work for me in this scale no matter how i high or low i set it.

could u guys shed enlighten me please

right so the spinners precission can be adjusted in max preferences

now that leaves the area problem unsolved

absolutely the spinners is customizable in max preference :
custumize -> preference -> Spinners 3 or more Decimals

for the area, try to put a turbosmooth or meshsmooth on your emitter to face a emitter more subdivided and see if it help.
