  • Distributed Rendering and Irradance map

    First off I’m using

Vray 1.50 SP2….mutltiframe incremental… With primary set to irradiance map and secondary set to Brute Force

I’m trying to create an Irradiance map for an animation using DR via our renderer farm. When I send it is seems to work fine on the first couple frames. Then slaves start falling off the frame buffer preview. By the 4th or 5th rendering DR is down to using just the Host machine and in one test the Last rendering..say the 11th just one slave kicked back on and helped out.

I’ve tried it on two different scenes… a Very Large Scene and a small scene…same problem.

    Any ideas…

    Thanks in advance

multiframe incremental does not work in DR.
    it's explained in vray help - http://www.spot3d.com/vray/help/150S...vancedimap.htm

the purpose of a ninja is to flip out and kill people.
the purpose of an architect is to flip out and design for people.

Yep, this is one of the things we are working on for SP3.

          ?
i was useing DR multiframe incremantal and 30 nodes in RC3 and SP1 without problems?
the GI map is giant afterwards but but much faster calculated
did the same as rendering a still image in DR - I just set GI mode to multiframe and save to file, dont reneder final image and each 10th for 1900frame long aim.

          cant second that

Thanks for the feedback. That will be great when you squash that bug! QuakeMarine... do you get it to work everytime?

for me it works for a couple of frames, then render slaves start to drop out from the rendering and then only the workstation is calculating irradiance map.
have never been able to make it work for more than that.
