  • Distributed rendering host not responding

    Hi Guys,

I have a problem with my very small render farm...of 2 computers. I try a DR scene and the message, "render host (192.168.0.10) is not responding".

This doesnt happen all the time, just occasionally. I have to remote desktop to the server, close the vray dr spawner and then restart it again.

Is there any way to resolve this, or at least reset the vr spawner on the server so that I dont have to manually restart it. If I had more machines, this would be a nightmare..

    Cheers

    Steve

I have always had this problem (for about 6 months) and now its getting worse. A fix would be much appreciated. Problem seems to be that the nodes dont purge the max file and if its still there, they try and use the cached file.

I am not using saved lightcache or irr map calculations. This is only a still image were talking about here where the calcs are done on the fly using dr. Obviously lightcache is calculated on the main computer.

I´m also having problems of hosts not responding.

Strangely I´ve been rendering a scene with a slave without problems with one scene and then after loading a different scene (much bigger though), the slave is not responding.

Can this be due to the size of the newly loaded scene ? It is has a size of about 300 mb and takes some time until transmitted to the slave (over a 100mbit network).

Or maybe the memory of the slave (just 2 GB) ?
